It’s back on September 1 – the Newport Nocturne, the only British bike race that even gets close to the excitement generated by the Tour de France.
Millions turned out to see Le Tour start in London and on its way to Canterbury in July.
Many were discovering for the first time what Newport has always known – that top quality cycling can be the most exciting of sporting spectacles.
The scale is different, but the impact is the same.
The Nocturne’s idea is to bring in the best riders available and hurl them round and round this Shropshire gem of a market town under industrial lighting in front of thousands of cheering fans.
Top professionals, amateur champions and former stars combine forces to making it the most thrilling FREE night of sport in the country.
There’s live music, food and a fantastic atmosphere backed by top class commentary. A great recipe for a great night out.
